How I shared N600m between Odili, George, Nwobodo, others – Bashir Yuguda

Former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, has revealed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that he disbursed N600million cash to six chairmen of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2015 general election.

Yuguda said the recipients of the funds were: Bode George (South-West); Amb. Yerima Abdullahi (North-East); Peter Odili (South-South); Attahiru Bafarawa (North-West);  Jim Nwobodo (South -East); and Ahmadu Ali (North-Central).

The trial of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Mr. Sambo Dasuki, ex-Minister of Finance Bashir Yuguda and a former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser, Mr. Shuaibu Salisu as well as six others for alleged misappropriation N10billion is set to begin today.

ALLEGED $2bn arms deal fraud: EFCC uncovers another N600m scam

The Economic  and Financial Crimes Commission, yesterday, continued its arrest of high profile politicians and top military officers over the $2bn arms contract allegedly disbursed by the Office of National Security Adviser, ONSA.

Suspects arrested, yesterday, included the former Chairman of the Presidential Implementation Committee on Marine Safety, Air Vice Marshal Salihu Atawodi.

Atawodi was accused of alleged diversion of N600 million meant for acquisition of military boats for the use of the Nigerian armed forces.

Others who are already being detained in connection with the arms deal include former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki; Chairman Emeritus of Daar Communications, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa and former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda.
